Join The Sovereign on May 9th, as we welcome the fine folks from Allagash Brewing Company. On this night, we’ll showcase 20 different beers from the Portland, ME brewery – including rare kegs of Coolship Red, Belfius & Saison Gratis! Back in 2007, Allagash became the first American craft brewery to install their very own coolship. This unique fermentation vessel, shaped like a wide, shallow brownie pan, is most famously used to produce the legendary Lambics of Belgium. We are beyond thrilled to showcase 3 incredibly special beers that have come out of Allagash’s famed coolship. Headlining the list is Coolship Red, inspired by traditional Belgian Framboise Lambic. Fermented in the coolship with naturally occurring yeast and microflora, this beer is then aged over 2 years in French oak wine barrels with Maine-grown raspberries.
