From an email: THE SOVEREIGN HOSTS THE 3RD ANNUAL ALLAGASH SAISON DAY 2016! Join us on Saturday, March 12th as we host Allagash Saison Day 2016 in Washington, DC. For this year, The Sovereign will join forces with Allagash, Oxbow and Brasserie Dupont to celebrate one of our favorite beer styles, the mighty Saison, and we are honored to be one of just 10 bars and restaurants selected nation-wide to participate in the festivities! Originating in the French speaking Belgian countryside, this loosely organized style was first brewed by Belgian farmers. On this evening, the style’s diversity and versatility will be on full display. In addition to Allagash Saison, the brewery’s newest year round beer, we will feature a very limited keg of Century Saison, brewed with both Saison Ale yeast and Brettanomyces.
